Connected By Kindness is a student-led campaign created by Year 9 students at St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School, in partnership with The Village Health. Together, we set out to make a difference in the mental health and well-being of our community through one simple, meaningful idea: kindness is contagious.

As part of the campaign, each student has designed a unique postcard filled with encouraging messages. These postcards will be shared throughout the community in a “pay it forward” style no criteria, no expectations, just small reminders of hope and connection, shared freely. Because loneliness doesn’t discriminate, and everyone deserves to feel like they belong.

Thank you for supporting this beautiful movement. We believe that even the smallest act of kindness can spark something powerful. Let’s build a more connected, caring world together.

Have you received a Connected By Kindness Postcard?

Why This Matters

98% of young Australians experienced feelings of depression or anxiety in 2024.

40% of Australians aged 16-24 experience a mental health disorder.

32% of deaths in young Australians are mental health related. Compared to 12% of adults.

Loneliness Is Rising

1 in 4 Australians report feeling lonely on a regular basis. Kindness and connection act like a mental health shield, for both the giver and the receiver.

Acts of kindness release oxytocin, boost dopamine, increase empathy, lower stress, and improve overall wellbeing.

Connection Is Key

Everyone feels lonely sometimes, even when we’re surrounded by people. In a world where so many quietly carry the weight of their mental health struggles, a small act of kindness can be a powerful reminder: you are seen, you matter, and you’re not alone.
