Family Violence Recovery

When safety has been shaken, healing needs a Village.
Domestic and family violence leaves deep marks; emotional, physical, relational. At The Village Health, we walk alongside individuals and families as they rebuild stability, connection, and self-trust. Our team offers a grounded, strengths-based, trauma-informed pathway forward for adults, children, and adolescents who have lived through violence, coercion, or control.
We believe recovery is not just possible — it is powerful when the right support system wraps around you.

Who We Support
We work with:
-
Adult victim-survivors seeking safety, clarity, confidence, and emotional regulation after violence.
-
Children and adolescents who have witnessed harm, absorbed the stress around them, or are showing signs of distress, behavioural changes, anxiety, or trauma responses.
-
Families rebuilding together, navigating complex transitions, separation, court processes, or co-parenting after violence.
Every journey is unique. We meet each person with compassion, evidence-based care, and a clear plan.

How We Support You
Our services include:
-
Individual therapy for adults, teens, and children
-
Family therapy to strengthen communication, safety, and connection
-
Safety planning and emotional regulation support
-
Psycho-education around trauma, coercive control, nervous-system responses, and rebuilding self-trust
-
Practical support pathways including referrals, warm handovers, and coordinated care with external agencies
We use a blend of therapeutic modalities including ACT, trauma-informed counselling, somatic approaches, relational therapies, and education-based support, always paced to match your nervous system’s capacity.

Partnerships & Funded Pathways
The Village Health is a trusted partner with The Orange Door, Victims of Crime, and other local and state agencies.
This means many clients can access fully or partially funded sessions, depending on eligibility and referral pathway.
We collaborate closely with:
-
Community mental health services
-
Local government programs
-
Legal and support services
-
Schools and youth agencies
This wrap-around model ensures you aren’t navigating recovery alone — your support network speaks to each other, aligns care, and stays focused on what’s best for you and your family.
