About the event

Why This Forum Matters

Across Australia too many young people are falling through the cracks of an overstretched and under-resourced mental health system. Baw Baw Shire and Latrobe Valley are among the worst effected and most under-resourced. Families are waiting months for support, only to be told they don’t meet the criteria or that their young person is “not sick enough.”

The Village Youth Foundation is building a community-powered response, one that listens deeply to young people and their families, and creates accessible, trauma-informed, youth-centred care right here in our own community.

This Open Forum is for parents and carers who want to be part of shaping the future of youth mental health in our region.
