It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child.
We believe it also takes a village to heal an adult.

Our Services

Elizabeth Banks, Director and Counsellor, seated indoors

We offer counselling for adults, teens, children, couples and families.
If you're navigating something difficult, feeling stuck, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, we'll meet you where you are and help you find a way forward.

From learning and concentration, to anxiety, friendships and school attendance.

We help young people understand how they learn, recognise their strengths and build confidence to navigate school, in a way that works for them.

Our comprehensive screening process helps build a clearer picture of your child's individual strengths, challenges and needs. Including concerns around attention, autism, learning, processing, behaviour and social and emotional wellbeing.

When safety has been shaken, healing needs a Village. We walk alongside victim-survivors and families as they rebuild stability, connection and trust in themselves after family violence.

EMDR can support people experiencing trauma and PTSD symptoms such as flashbacks, anxiety, distress and avoidance, helping you move forward without feeling as though the past is still happening in the present.

Adolescence is a powerful, vulnerable and transformative stage of life.

We offer support for the emotional, social, physical, identity and relationship changes that come with growing up. Creating a safe space to feel understood and accepted.

Therapy Dogs

Sometimes connection comes with four paws and a wagging tail.

Walking into a health or counselling practice can feel like a big step.

You might be nervous.

Your child might not know what to expect.

You might simply be having a really hard day.

And sometimes, being greeted by a little furry face makes that first step feel just a bit easier.

At The Village Health, our dogs are part of what makes our Village feel like home.

We are here for you and your family.
It takes a village

Too many local young people are waiting too long for mental health support, while families are left wondering where to turn.

The Village Youth Foundation is changing that, providing affordable, local mental health support for young people aged 12–25 and their families, made possible through the support of our community.

Because getting help shouldn't depend on how long you can wait or what your family can afford.

Looking for support?

Want to help make it possible?

Life was never meant to be navigated alone.

Whatever brings you through our doors, you belong here.

What sets us apart?

Heart-led. Evidence-based.  People first.

At The Village Health, we believe good care starts with feeling seen, heard and understood.

Our approach brings together evidence-based practice with genuine human connection.

We look beyond the symptom, diagnosis or challenge to see the whole person, and tailor support around who you are and what you need.

Our team creates a warm, welcoming environment where individuals and families can feel safe to explore, heal, learn and grow.

And sometimes, that support comes with four paws and a wagging tail from one of our much-loved therapy dogs.

We're here to help you find your way forward, with the right support and a Village around you.
